I just installed the First GIS Application on OpenDNA. It’s a cool little tool I can probably pull a project out of it after I dust off my Intro to GIS notes.

giMapper: The geographical information web Mapper [was] developed as an alternative to the well established open source project MapServer… The project started to use MapServer but it soon became evident that to use MapServer in the final application would require access to the server’s root for installation and configuration – something we did not have… giMapper is a standalone application… and can be installed and configured entirely using FTP.
