Anyways, W\u2019s written me an email to inform me that War starts soon..it says right here in TV guide <\/i><\/p>\n

(War \u2013 location TBA) Friends, That 70s Show, Reruns Of “Gulf War I \u2013 Desert storm”, Paid Programming \u2013 “The Freedomizer” (it slices, it dices, it dissolves your regimes), Off Air<\/p>\n

Thanks for the heads up, W. I appreciate things that because people often forget to tell me things I should know. For example…<\/p>\n

I opened up my website after getting home from work today and discovered that we\u2019re at Code Orange <\/a>or Agent Orange or Alert Level DD8800<\/a> or whatever it\u2019s called. I was at work all day and my first clue that I was supposed to be extra paranoid was that the Former<\/a> Boss had changed to a different hue<\/a> on my website.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t think about it too much, you\u2019ll need a drink. (Happy Saint Patty\u2019s Day!)<\/p>\n

In fact, I was so skeptical I checked the DHS website<\/a> and sure enough…<\/p>\n

Now, maybe I\u2019m unclear on the concept, but shouldn\u2019t someone tell me when I\u2019m supposed to go from an ELEVATED state of alertness to a HIGH state of alertness? (Elevated sounds more important than High to me, but that\u2019s not how it works.) This whole Department of Homeland Security concept was about… What? Come on people! Send us a fax before you make the press release! We\u2019re “the nation\u2019s front line of defense”, remember?<\/p>\n

Geez!<\/p>\n

Granted, a Supervisor did<\/strong> walk out on the line today and ask “Are we at Code Orange? Does anyone know?” Nobody did. “I thought I heard something about that on the radio this morning.” No memos from on high, no change in procedure. That\u2019s the way it works.
